Aoki Design Co
Aoki Design Co. is a Tokyo-based Japanese product and industrial design studio founded in 2003 by Shigemitsu Aoki, born in Meguro, Tokyo, in 1957. Aoki began at Toshiba’s Design Center in 1975 and joined Texas Instruments’ Industrial Design Center in 1979. The studio provides product, industrial, medical-device and graphic design, planning, GUI/UI/UX, mechanical design and drawing, prototype production, development supervision, packaging, corporate identity, brochures and exhibition-booth design. Projects include Mitutoyo’s Linear Height LH-600FG and Formtracer Avant, plus Oriental Giken’s NOCE laboratory workbench and individually ventilated laboratory-animal housing system. These collaborations have received iF Design Awards and Good Design Awards, including Good Design recognition for the NOCE workbench in 2015 and the animal-housing system in 2018.
