A Studio
Shin Azumi (born 1965 in Kobe, Japan) graduated from Kyoto City University of Arts in 1989 and completed an MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art, London, in 1994. After working at NEC Design Center and collaborating with Tomoko Azumi as AZUMI, he established his independent practice in London in 2005, now operating as a studio design from Kichijoji, Tokyo. His work spans furniture, product, industrial and spatial design and has been exhibited internationally. It is held in collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum and Stedelijk Museum, and his distinctions include the FX International Design Award, Blueprint 100% Design Award and Jerwood Applied Arts Prize. He is a professor at Hosei University.
