Super Rat
SUPER RAT is a Tokyo-based Japanese design studio founded in 2024 by designer Kazuki Nagasawa, born in 1995 in Neyagawa, Osaka, and educated at Kuwasawa Design School. Its practice spans interior, furniture, and product design, with a focus on material research, Japanese craft techniques, and cultural references. The UTSUWA–JUHI SERIES develops containers and lamps from shuro palm bark, kakishibu persimmon-tannin dye, and iron mordant made from discarded metal, in collaboration with Broom Craft and Taiho Kasei. Presented at SaloneSatellite in Milan and DESIGNART TOKYO 2025, the series won first prize at the SaloneSatellite Award 2025; other documented works include KOMORE and MA.
