16and19
16and19 is a Tokyo-based design studio founded by Shinya Ito and Kaori Yamamoto, working across furniture, lighting, mirrors, seating and other product designs. Its practice includes SHIFT, Visibility, Floor Lamp, Bloom, momo, Shower Light, Milk Crown Mirror, Do not disturb mirror, Green stool and Stacking chair, with a stated aim of questioning the limits and purposes of design. The studio exhibited at SaloneSatellite in Milan and at Triennale Milano’s Universo satellite: 25 anni di SaloneSatellite in 2024. Shower Light received recognition including Observeur du design 2014, the Public Prize for The RADO Star Prize 2014 and Best of NYC x design 2018. The studio also received the Akari image 2020 Light Design Competition award.
