More about

Founded in 2016, the University of Oregon's MS in Sports Product Design program (based primarily in Portland) is the only graduate degree of its kind in the world, training students to lead multidisciplinary teams in the sports industry. The 77-credit STEM-designated curriculum covers core areas including soft goods and digital technologies, materials and manufacturing, business strategy, research methodology, and thesis research, alongside interdisciplinary requirements in human physiology/performance and strategic communication. Students work with sports and manufacturing partners as instructors and mentors, with alumni securing patents, international design awards, and adaptive product breakthroughs as designers, developers, researchers. The university also offers an undergraduate BFA in Product Design that covers general industrial product design across tools, transportation, technology, furniture, clothing, and sporting equipment, with students gaining industry challenges, award competition experience, and exhibition opportunities.
