OVERVIEW

BA (Hons) Industrial Design equipping students with knowledge and skills to develop future-facing products through creative exploration and independent judgment. Housed in a £21M purpose-built design building with industry-standard workshops. Accredited by the Institute of Engineering Designers (IED).

Focuses on creative ideation, form development/product styling, usability & interaction, sustainability, ergonomics & human factors. Years 1-2 build core design skills (design research, ideation, model making, CAD, prototyping, manufacturing). Final year includes a major project and live projects. Optional placement year (Diploma in Professional Studies). Facilities include 3D printing, CNC milling, and laser cutting. Also offers Product Design and Technology BSc and Product Design Engineering BEng.
