Carnegie Mellon University's School of Design offers undergraduate Product Design study within the Bachelor of Design and graduate study through the Master of Design in Design for Interactions. The program treats products in relation to people, services, technologies, and wider systems, combining studio work with design research and critical inquiry.
Students develop skills in form-giving, sketching, prototyping, materials, manufacturing, and interaction design through collaborative projects. The curriculum also addresses service design, social innovation, and transition design, allowing students to examine physical, digital, and combined product experiences.
