The curriculum covers research, concept development, and prototype making, studying how people behave to better understand their needs. Students are encouraged to design sustainable products that last many generations while considering diverse cultures. Topics across years include Form and Structure, Drawing for Industrial Design, Communicating through Form, Emerging Technology, Advanced 3D Drawing, Material Explorations, Design for Health, Design Research and Innovation, and Compelling Experience Design. Access to specialized production facilities (wood, metal, plastics, ceramics) plus internships and field placements.

OVERVIEW
Four-year, studio-based Bachelor of Design (BDes) in Industrial Design. Recognized by the Association of Canadian Industrial Designers. Teaches students to develop innovative solutions for daily life — from physical products to mobile apps — through research, concept development, prototyping, and sustainable/user-centered design. Fourth year culminates in a major design project showcased at GradEx, OCAD U's Graduate Exhibition.
