Parsons School of Design is a private art and design school in New York City, part of The New School, with product and industrial design education connected to architecture, interior design, lighting, and other creative disciplines. The BFA in Product Design develops technical and critical skills through studio work, while the MFA in Industrial Design extends study into advanced making and design inquiry.
The curriculum addresses sustainability, materials innovation, fabrication, user-centered design, and the relationships among products, people, and production systems. Students use the Making Center and related facilities to develop physical and digital work, and graduate study examines product design across localized and globalized production contexts.
