Tama Art University's Product Design course uses studio-based education to examine the relationship between form, function, materials, and manufacturing. Students work on industrial products including furniture, transportation, and household objects, developing independent design judgment through sustained project work and faculty coaching.
The department also offers an Integrated Design course led by Naoto Fukasawa, which focuses on systems and the relationship between people and objects. Together, these courses place product concepts within broader questions of use, production, and everyday life.
