Iowa State University's Department of Industrial Design, housed within the College of Design, offers a NASAD-accredited Bachelor of Industrial Design (BID) — the only professional industrial design degree in the state of Iowa. The four-year program begins with a one-year Core Design Program, followed by three years of focused study in the professional BID curriculum. Students work hands-on in individual studio spaces in the historic Armory building, with access to an integrated model-making shop, the Output Center (featuring 3D printers, laser cutters, and large-format color printers), and the Student Innovation Center (SICTR).
