The University of Arizona does not list a standalone degree titled Industrial Design or Product Design; its closest pathway is the BA in Design Arts & Practices with an Object Design emphasis. Offered through the School of Art with collaboration from CAPLA, the four-year program addresses three-dimensional work ranging from individual pieces to mass-manufactured objects.
Study includes design history, object design, design thinking, iterative problem-solving, digital visual communication, prototyping, and materials and manufacturing technologies. Students complete a senior capstone and consider ecological principles in work involving products, furnishings, furniture, and systems.
