Université de Montréal's École de design offers a four-year, 120-credit Baccalauréat en design industriel within the Faculté de l'aménagement. The program combines product and systems design with furniture, packaging, medical equipment, transportation, and interactive design, while addressing sustainability, ergonomics, and socio-technical contexts.
Teaching joins theory with hands-on studio work in design, materials and manufacturing, ergonomics, computer-aided design, and sustainable design. Students complete a mandatory industry co-op placement in the third year and a final capstone project in the fourth, with opportunities for interdisciplinary work alongside architecture, interior design, and urban planning.
