New Jersey Institute of Technology, founded in 1881, is a public research university in Newark with a strong STEM and design environment. Its four-year BS in Industrial Design is housed in the J. Robert and Barbara A. Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
After foundation study in drawing, graphics, color theory, art history, mathematics, and English, students progress through design studios, fabrication, modeling, ergonomics, sustainable materials, mechanics, and electronics.
