The Industrial Design program at SCAD prepares students to create products, services, and systems that merge aesthetics, usability, and innovation. The curriculum covers contextual inquiry, design thinking, visualization, materials and processes, prototyping, digital modeling, and sustainability strategies. Students gain hands-on experience through SCADpro industry partnerships with global brands including Disney, BMW, Ford, Hasbro, and Coca-Cola, working on live design projects. The 45,000-square-foot Gulfstream Center for Design provides advanced fabrication labs, technology spaces, and professional-grade equipment for prototyping and testing. Graduates develop strong professional portfolios and practical industry experience, ready to work as industrial designers, product designers, or design strategists.
