The Red Dot Award: Design Concept is an international competition for design concepts and studies that have not yet been realized or brought to market. It is organized by Red Dot GmbH and Co. KG in Essen, Germany, as part of the Red Dot Award program, whose disciplines span commercial products, communication, brands, and concepts.
International experts assess entries through project documentation. The competition is open to students, designers, studios, and companies. Red Dot and Best of the Best distinctions offer label use, certificates or trophies, yearbook and online archive publication, and opportunities for exhibition and professional promotion.
