The DFA Design for Asia Award is the flagship program of Hong Kong Design Centre, recognizing design excellence that responds to Asian contexts and creates human, commercial, or social value.

Launched in 2003, the DFA Design for Asia Award is the flagship program of the Hong Kong Design Centre. It recognizes products, services, brands, spaces, and other projects that show a distinctive Asian perspective or meaningful impact in Asian markets.

An international jury evaluates human-centered innovation, usability, aesthetics, sustainability, Asian impact, and commercial or societal success. Recognized entrants receive the DFA Endorsement Mark, trophies or certificates, media exposure, and opportunities for exhibition and professional promotion.

What is the prize?

Winners receive the DFA Endorsement Mark, a trophy or certificate, media exposure, and exhibition opportunities. A mandatory Publication and Promotion fee applies to winning entries.

What do I need to submit?

Submit online through the DFA portal with a non-transferable Submission Code, project details, descriptions, images, and videos. The entry fee is HK$2,200, and winning entries are subject to the mandatory Publication and Promotion fee.

Do I need to submit a physical prototype?

A physical prototype is not required for this award. You can submit your project without providing a physical prototype.
