Kansas State University's Industrial Design program, housed within the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design, blends traditional industrial design, furniture design, and entrepreneurial thinking. The NASAD-accredited Master of Industrial Design offers non-baccalaureate and post-baccalaureate tracks, emphasizing a collaborative studio culture that transforms ideas into real-world, sustainable products. The innovative 5-Year Master's (MINDD) program allows students without prior design experience to earn a Master of Industrial Design.

Kansas State University (K-State), founded in 1863, is America's first operational land-grant university located in Manhattan, Kansas. Its Industrial Design program resides in the Department of Interior Architecture and Industrial Design (IAID) within the College of Architecture, Planning & Design (APDesign). The program employs an interdisciplinary approach that blends traditional industrial design, furniture design, and entrepreneurial thinking, preparing students to shape industries through creative, hands-on making. K-State offers several pathways including a Minor in Industrial Design, a 5-Year Master's in Industrial Design (MINDD) for high school graduates or transfers without prior design experience, and 2- or 3-Year post-baccalaureate Master's tracks for college graduates pivoting into design.
