Kansas City Art Institute offers a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts in Product Design in Kansas City, Missouri. The program begins with a foundation year and progresses into DesignSpace studios, rapid prototyping, materials and manufacturing processes, professional practice, and design entrepreneurship.
Students work in the Junius B. Irving Building and use 3D modeling labs, the DesignSpace maker space, Beals Studio, and the Design Incubator Hub, where student and alumni projects can move toward commercialization. Mentorship, internships with Kansas City partners, business coursework through the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and career preparation through the Professional Practice Center extend the studio curriculum.
