The Taipei Design Award is organized by the Taipei City Government and China Productivity Center to recognize original design with commercial potential and social impact.

Founded in 2008 by the Taipei City Government, the Taipei Design Award is an international competition that promotes product, communication, and social design. The Department of Economic Development of Taipei City Government organizes the program with China Productivity Center as its executive unit.

Entries pass eligibility and format checks before online preliminary and semifinal review, followed by category-specific final judging. The program links selected work with commercial development, civic initiatives, and Taipei’s design community.

Who can enter this award?

Open worldwide to individuals, teams, brands and creative enterprises, with one representative for each team. Works must be original and completed on or after January 1, 2024.

What is the prize?

Grand Prize NT$600,000; Gold Award NT$500,000 in the International Competition or NT$250,000 for Taipei Impact Design; Silver Award NT$200,000; Bronze Award NT$150,000; total pool up to NT$4.5 million.

What do I need to submit?

Submit online digital files, with category-specific images, descriptions and media. Shortlisted relevant entries may have to deliver a 1:1 or scaled physical model, with scaled models fitting the specified volume limits of 40 x 40 x 40 cm to 100 x 100 x 100 cm.

Do I need to submit a physical prototype?

Only finalists are required to submit a physical prototype. You do not need to submit one when applying or making your initial submission. If selected as a finalist, a physical prototype may need to be sent for evaluation and additional costs may apply. Check the official award website for specific requirements and shipping details.
