Who can enter this award?

Entrants must be at least 18 and be current university students or graduates within the previous four years in engineering, product design, or industrial design; degree-level apprentices may also qualify. Teams may enter when the team leader studied a qualifying subject and all members meet the student or recent-graduate rules, and entrants must have studied in an eligible country or region.

What is the prize?

The International Winner receives £30,000, and the Sustainability Winner receives £30,000. National Winners and international runners-up receive £5,000 each or the applicable regional equivalent, and winners receive international publicity and media exposure.

What do I need to submit?

Apply online with an explanation of the problem and solution, supporting visual material, and evidence of development. A working or developmental physical prototype is required and may be basic, including cardboard; a finished commercial product is not necessary.
