OVERVIEW

The Design Intelligence Award is an international competition founded by China Academy of Art to recognize intelligent, sustainable design solutions that improve products, services, and everyday life.

Founded in 2015 by the China Academy of Art, the Design Intelligence Award is an international competition for products, projects, technologies, and concepts with human, social, or environmental value. The academy hosts the program with support from the China Industrial Design Association and other partners.

Online review of text and images is followed by professional evaluation, demonstrations, and an on-site presentation and defense before an international jury. Award levels include Gold, Silver, Bronze, Future Talents, and Young Talents awards.

Prize pool RMB 5,000,000; two Gold Awards RMB 1,000,000 each; eight Silver Awards RMB 200,000 each; ten Bronze Awards RMB 100,000 each; two Future Talents Awards RMB 80,000 each; eight Young Talents Awards RMB 30,000 each.

What do I need to submit?

Register and submit text, renderings and descriptive files online. Shortlisted Product Group entries must provide the physical product, while Concept Group entries may need a functional prototype or detailed explanatory video; applicants pay shipping, insurance, customs and related logistics costs. Standard registration is free, but a late-period review fee may apply.

Do I need to submit a physical prototype?

Only finalists are required to submit a physical prototype. You do not need to submit one when applying or making your initial submission. If selected as a finalist, a physical prototype may need to be sent for evaluation and additional costs may apply. Check the official award website for specific requirements and shipping details.
