M+ opened in 2021 in the West Kowloon Cultural District as a museum focused on visual culture. Its scope connects art, design, architecture, and moving image, reflecting Hong Kong's place in regional and global cultural history.
The design holdings document manufacturing, consumer culture, furniture, product design, graphics, and other everyday objects from Hong Kong and beyond. The museum's large galleries and South Facade screen support a varied visit, with exhibitions that move between historical material, contemporary practice, and digital culture.
