Bauhaus Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung preserves the history of the Bauhaus movement and its influence on modern art, architecture, and design. Its collection grew from material assembled by Hans Maria Wingler and contributions connected with Bauhaus figures and institutions.
The holdings include architectural drawings, manuscripts, letters, films, sculptures, paintings, photographs, and furniture. The original building designed by Walter Gropius is being renovated and expanded, while exhibitions and public programs are presented at a temporary Berlin location, so visitors should check arrangements in advance.
