Rikuo Takata
Rikuo Takata is a Japanese product, furniture, interior, and spatial designer born in Mie Prefecture in 1998. He graduated from Kanazawa College of Art’s Design Department in 2021 and works between Tokyo and Fukui, and is associated with the Fukui-based design team SEN. His practice examines materials, regional resources, and craft processes through furniture, objects, lighting, and interiors, including the Time-Crafted series using Echizen washi, SUGU wooden tools, and POSTER LIGHT developed with Sakae Mark. His documented collaborations and commissions include Calvin Klein Harajuku Flagship, Morizumu NPO, REMARE, SOE, and Café HATOBA. He presented Time-Crafted at DESIGNTIDE TOKYO 2024 and received a Gold Award in the 5th Student BtoB Advertising Design Competition for a collaborative office project.
