Inga Sempè
Inga Sempé is a French designer who lives and works in Paris. She graduated from ENSCI – Les Ateliers in 1993 and was a resident at the Villa Medici in Rome from 2000 to 2001. That same year, she founded her own design studio. Her research focuses on domestic objects and their industrial production. She starts to work with Italian furniture companies, including Cappellini and Edra. In 2002, she received the Grand Prix du Design from the city of Paris, and an exhibition was dedicated to her work at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Since then, she works with French, Japanese, Italian, and Scandinavian companies such as HAY, Ligne Roset, Wästberg, Kvadrat, Magis, Alessi, LucePlan, Mutina, Iittala, Svenskt Tenn, Tectona, and others. In 2017, she was president of the jury for Design Parade 12, at the Villa Noailles in Hyères, where she presented a retrospective exhibition entitled “Tutti Frutti.” In 2024, she presented “La Casa Imperfetta,” an exhibition featuring her objects in a reconstruction of an imperfect house at the Triennale Museum in Milan.
